Early childhood education for low-income children ages 3-4 in the Bushwick and Bedford Stuyvesant communities in Brooklyn.

Universal Prekindergarten (UPK) is a New York State early childhood initiative administered by the NYC Department of Education. Available through the department’s Division of Instructional Support Office, UPK provides four year olds with access to a comprehensive early childhood education at no charge. The program is geared towards promoting their social, emotional, physical, creative, cognitive, linguistic and cultural development. Children in New York City are eligible for the program if they become four years old by December 31st of the school year in which they’re enrolled.
